Chris Christie 55th Governor of New Jersey

Mr. Christie the 55th governor of New Jersey and two-time presidential candidate, joined Tenneco’s board of directors in May 2024. He currently serves as the Managing Member of the Christie Law Firm and Christie 55 Solutions, LLC in Morristown, NJ. Mr. Christie is best known as the two-term governor of New Jersey and two-time candidate for nomination for president in 2016 and 2024. Mr. Christie served as United States Attorney for New Jersey from 2002 to 2008 before being elected governor in 2009. During his first term he was credited with cutting spending, capping property tax growth and engaging in recovery efforts after Hurricane Sandy before being re-elected by an overwhelming margin in 2013. Also in 2013, Christie was elected chairman of his party’s Governors Association. He then went on to run for president in the 2016 and 2024 primaries. In 2019, he authored The New York Times best seller, Let Me Finish, about his life and his 2016 candidacy for President. In 2021, he authored Republican Rescue, dealing with his prescription for the future of the national GOP. In 2024 he authored his third book, What Would Reagan Do? about Ronald Reagan’s life and leadership lessons. Mr. Christie holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Delaware and a J.D from Seton Hall University’s School of Law. He was admitted to the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Bar of the United States District Court, District of New Jersey, in December 1987. He also has been awarded honorary doctorate degrees by Rutgers University and Monmouth University. In addition to Tenneco, he currently serves on the board of directors of the New York Mets, Pacira Pharmaceuticals in Parsippany, NJ, and Saker Holdings in Middletown, NJ.
