Matt Roney Executive Vice President, M&A and Strategy

Matt Roney was appointed Tenneco’s Executive Vice President, M&A and Strategy in March 2024. He is responsible for developing and managing a robust M&A strategy to help the company capitalize on inorganic growth opportunities. He is a member of the company’s executive leadership team. Roney originally joined Tenneco in November 2022 as President of DRiV, Tenneco’s aftermarket business group which includes more than 30 aftermarket brands, 15 of which have been providing customers with high quality products and services for more than a century. Roney’s background includes a broad range of business experience, including more than 25 years in leadership roles at automotive and industrial businesses, most recently as the chief executive officer of Lumileds, a global manufacturer of LEDs and innovative lighting solutions for the automotive, general lighting, and specialty consumer electronics markets. Prior to Lumileds, Roney was the chief operating officer at Stanley Infrastructure, a division of Stanley Black & Decker, following Stanley’s acquisition of Paladin Attachments where he was president. Before joining Paladin, Roney was the vice president and general manager of the global steering business at TRW Automotive after progressive roles in product planning, business development, and general management. He began his career at Ford Motor Company as a manufacturing engineer in powertrain operations before moving to McKinsey & Company as a consultant and then to Siegel-Robert Automotive as vice president of sales, marketing & program management. Roney holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Cornell University, a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
